CTG
CTG is the abbreviation for “cardiotocography” and is used to measure the baby´s heart rate and monitor the contractions in the womb. It is this correlation between the foetal heart beat and the pressure in the womb over a period of time which indicates if the baby is being adequately supplied with oxygen. This is a standard method today for monitoring the pregnancy and used during the third trimester and throughout the birth.
